Based in the upper Blue Mountains, The Art of Joinery is an acoustic duo whose individual parts are Chris Emmerson (vocals, piano, bass ukulele, guitar) and Gaines Post (flute, vocals, guitar, violin).
They perform a mix of original songs, covers, and instrumentals, and through all of it, their focus is on joining their respective sounds and musical minds synergistically—with the intention of producing a combined effect that is greater than the sum of its parts, not unlike kintsugi (金継ぎ, “golden joinery”) or rigorously-crafted woodworks.
